Urdu inscription repeated four times, cradling the edge of the artwork is inspired by childhood prayers and my favorite chapter in the Quran, Surah Ar-Rehman.

Ar- Rehman means The Most Beneficent. The words revolve around mercy, and gratitude. “Which one of your blessings will you deny?” a question posed to mankind is repeated frequently in this chapter as well as within the art. When we function out of humility, we gain clarity of the smaller, yet more meaningful things in life. We find abundance through the power of gratitude. In turn we find empowerment to be pillars for those in need. Do not let yourself be distracted by the haste of life, pause to acknowledge the gift of your of humility, innate humanity. Be beneficent.

Urdu text outlying each side, loose translation: Let our hearts flow with tranquility. May there be calm in our days. May our steps with soft with gratitude and our days full of clarity. May nights be of rest and Sakeena (peace). May our intentions be pure and actions sincere. May we always have safety, kindness and a strong will to share our blessings every moment we find and seek. May our memories and hope always be bright with compassion.
